The renovation of the landmarked Rubin Hall is a formative step to address NYU’s Climate Action Plan. The project will improve the student residential experience and implement citywide goals of reducing operational carbon in compliance with New York City’s Local Law 97 requirements. This all-electric renovation targets Passive house EnerPHit certification and serves as an exemplar project for the retrofit of millions of square feet of pre-war multifamily construction in New York.
