CoGrow
MIT, 2022
CoGrow makes use of existing mapping technologies and data science to highlight neighborhoods where environmental interventions are most
needed by visualizing the need for green infrastructure through various metrics of the Equity Index. In addition to advocating for environmental justice, it is also a platform for crowdsourcing community’s visions, facilitating community engagement in Philadelphia’s ongoing development process. Because of limitations on time, we were not able to include an inhouse design feature into the tool but plan on it being a feature of future versions of CoGrow. The hope is that the visualization of data from the Equity Index combined with a growing archive of user submitted visions will make a strong case for funding green infrastructure to organizations and resources looking to invest in projects.
